Victor Cavalcante is a Research Staff Member in the Service Systems group at IBM Research Brazil since January 2011, where he leads research projects related to productivity and quality of service. He joined IBM Brazil in January 2010 as researcher within Global Technology Services division, when he started to conduct research projects related to the optimization of IT service delivery operations of IT outsourcing.
Before joining IBM Research, Victor was researcher at UNISIM Research Group inside the Center of Studies of Petroleum (CEPETRO) at the State University of Campinas and assistant professor at the master course of UNIMEP. Prior to that, Victor had several years experience working as optimization consultant (Gapso, ILOG and IBM) and working as software designer (IBM and Nortel Networks) and as researcher in Operations Research (CTI Foundation).
He holds a Ph.D. and a Master in Computer Science from the State University of Campinas with emphasis, respectively, on Combinatorial Optimization and Optimization heuristics. He also holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the State University of Ceara.
