Seshu Tirupathi joined the IBM Research – Dublin Lab in 2014 as a member of the Water group. His main focus is on developing numerical methods to model physical processes in the hydrosphere with an emphasis on urban flood models and unconfined aquifers. Seshu's core contributions to this application area are in the fields of numerical analysis and scientific computing.
Prior to joining IBM, Seshu was a member of the Scientific Computing group at Brown University, where he earned his PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2014. He also holds an M.Eng. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University and a B.Tech. degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
In his leisure time, Seshu enjoys playing lawn tennis and is a Bridge enthusiast.
