Sara Porat manages the University Relation program for IBM Haifa Research Lab.

Sara received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technion, Haifa, in 1986. She has been a faculty member at the University of Rochester and at the Technion. Since joining IBM Israel in 1990, she has been involved with compilers, techniques and tools for mining, understanding and managing software assets and metadata. Her main focus in 2009-2010 was in the areas of information security, data masking and data leakage prevention. Sara was involved in the development of technologies that found their way into IBM products, solutions and service offerings. Sara recently joined the Information & Social Analytics Dept. to lead IBM objectives in the FP7 EU SocIoS project "Exploiting Social Networks for Building the Future Internet of Services"
