I am working as a Technical Staff Member at IBM Research Labs. My area of expertise is computer science and programming in specific. Currently I am doing research in the area of smarter energy where I am looking into using computer science technologies to improve the process of electricity generation, transmission and distribution. My latest interest has been the area of cognitive systems. I am looking into ways of utilizing the aspects of cognitive science to improve the process of decision making in various control rooms.
Prior to starting work in the Smarter Energy domain, I was doing research in Enterprise Social Networking. My other major areas of interest are smart devices and development intelligence. I have been involved in research on ways to measure developer effort from developer activity by analyzing the source code data. In addition, I have also been involved in research on ways to measure and improve the efficiency of Sustaining Engineering projects in a development organization. I also do interesting stuff on various different applications for smart devices in my spare time. I am really excited about Internet of Things and would be really interested in working on any project that makes it possible.
Before joining IBM Research I was part of IBM Rational where I was part of the inception team of Rational Insight. I contributed to almost all components of this Development Intelligence product. Before IBM Rational, I did my Bachelors in Engineering at College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai. I did my Thesis on efficient processing of Location Dependent Continuous Queries in a mobile and decentralized network.
