As Director of IBM Research - India, I lead research efforts to develop breakthrough technologies for IT services, systems, and solutions for growth markets. I have previously led research on system software for the IBM Blue Gene supercomputer (for which IBM received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation in 2009 from the US President) and other Deep Computing platforms. I have co-authored over 70 papers in the areas of high performance compilers, parallel computing, power-aware computing and Java Virtual Machine optimizations, which have been widely cited (over 4000 citations in Google Scholar). Have received an Outstanding Innovation Award, two Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards, and the Lou Gerstner Award for Client Excellence at IBM. I represent IBM India on Innovation Councils of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and am serving as a co-leader for Services Research and Innovation Institute (SRII) India. I am an ACM Distinguished Scientist and a member of the IBM Academy of Technology.
