IBM Research - India
Update: I am headed to the University of Texas at Austin for a PhD - Fall 2012.
I am Subhashini, and I'm with the NextGen Services Delivery group at IBM Research - India. Before joining IBM, I obtained a Masters degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Madras. My thesis advisor was Prof. C. Pandu Rangan. In 2009, I received my bachelor's degree in Information Technology from NITK Surathkal. I completed all my schooling from Sri Kumaran Children's Home (C.B.S.E), Bangalore.
My research interests are broadly in the area of theoretical computer science, in particular cryptography and security. Apart from theory, I have also worked in data mining, databases, networks, and web technologies. My current projects involve social network analysis and web mining. If you are interested, here's where you can find details about my research.
In my spare time I enjoy solving crosswords and playing outdoor sports. As a member of the athletic team I have represented my institutes in inter-collegiate tournaments. I am also a fan of Indian classical music; during my time at IIT Madras and NITK Surathkal, I've had the chance to attend wonderful concerts on a regular basis. I have also been actively involved in astronomy and open-source activities throughout my college life. Recently, I began studying Sanskrit from Samskrita Bharati.
