My research interests are visual analytics, information visualization, and human-computer interaction. I design and evaluate novel visual analytics methods for a variety of domains, including healthcare professionals. I conduct qualitative and quantitative user studies to investigate user behaviors of learning, creating, and using information visualization for data analysis tasks. I study novel visualizations that incorporate state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms to solve real-world problems. I also design novel interaction designs for users to understand and to steer complex underlying algorithms for tasks in hand.
