Hi! I am a research staff member at IBM Research - Almaden. I joined IBM Research in 2000 and have been working on several areas related to human computer interaction, most recently on collaborative data analytics. In the past I worked on multi-dimensional data visualization, metaphors for complex system configuration, system management software, ethnographic studies of system administrators, semantic search, end-user programming for the web, end-user programmable spreadsheets, and collaboration software for meetings. My publications can be found on Google Scholar.
I love studying people - observing them how they work. I studied system administrators at data centers for several years with my colleagues at IBM - and published our results and analysis in a book, titled Taming Information Technology
