Julie Novak is a research staff member in the Statistical Analysis and Forecasting group at IBM Research. She received her B.S degree in Mathematics from McGill University in 2011 and her Ph. D. in Statistics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015 under the supervision of Shane Jensen and Eric Bradlow. Her dissertation work focused on Bayesian Hierarchical Modeling for Missing Data in Marketing. Since joining IBM, her research activities have included improving methodology for forecasting revenue in a hierarchical business setting as well as improving effectiveness of marketing campaigns for large corporations.
