I am a Research Staff Member in the Statistical Learning and Discovery Department of the Watson group at IBM. I am currently working on Question Answering technologies of the Watson system. My current research interests are in Deep Learning and its applications to Question Answering and Natural Language Processing.
Prior to IBM, I served as a researcher at the NLP group of Stanford University with Prof. Chris Manning, and at the AI Center of SRI International. I graduated with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2006, and did my post doctoral work at Carnegie Mellon University with Prof. John Lafferty and Prof. William Cohen. I also hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering from IIT Bombay, India.
