I completed my Ph.D in July 2010 from the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Southern California. I obtained my Masters degree in Operations Research from USC, and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

My doctoral dissertation dealt with developing efficient integer programming models combined with approximation schemes to route and schedule freight trains. During my doctoral studies, I was awarded the Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship by the John Randolph Haynes and Dora Haynes Foundation for the 2009-2010 academic year.
