Sangeetha Seshadri is a Research Staff Member in the Storage Systems Research group at IBM Almaden Research Center. She currently manages the High Velocity Persistent Data Services Research Group at the IBM Almaden Research Center . She received her PhD from Georgia Tech under the supervision of Prof. Ling Liu in 2009. Prior to that, she received her B. E. (Honors) Computer Science and M.Sc (Honors ) Mathematics degrees from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, India.
Dr. Seshadri's interests lie in the area of large scale storage systems. Her current work focuses on building storage systems that can address a growing number of real-time analytics workloads targeting mission critical IoT, social, and mobile applications - for example, fraud detection, industrial automation, digital marketing and e-healthcare. Dr. Seshadri's prior projects Easy Tier and Easy Tier Server have led to technology that has been incorporated into the IBM® System Storage® product line (DS8000). Dr. Seshadri has 15 issued patents, over 25 pending patent applications, has published over 20 refereed papers and has been an invited speaker at several conferences (recent: SCDM 2016 Keynote Address).
She has served on the PC/review committee for several conferences and journals. Most recently, Dr. Seshadri was co-chair for the ICDCS 2017 Applications and Experiences track and is vice-chair for ICDCS 2018 Industry and Experimentation track.
