Liquid Metal - Demo: N-body Simulation

The video above is a Lime program that simulates a dynamic system of particles under the influence of gravitational force. There are 4096 particles. The particles will appear to barely rotate for the first ~10s of the video because the algorithm is running purely in software on a conventional processor. If you look closely at the center of the particle field, you will see the bodies rotating very slowly. The algorithm is then dynamically replaced with a version that runs significantly faster on a GPU (compiled from the same Lime program) and you can immediately see the benefits of the acceleration on the graphics processor.
