Materials, processes, computational models and assembly methods developed for nanotechnology are leveraged for applications in desalination, water purification and power generation

Opportunities:

• Water purification for human and agricultural use is a global challenge and a high impact area for innovation using functional/smart materials.

• The application of high performance computing to develop a greater understanding of membrane filtration processes (especially Reverse Osmosis) could lead to breakthroughs in the construction of new materials and processes for high efficiency separation of salts and toxins from water.
