Usability is the key to success for today's software. The IBM Human-Computer Interaction and Software Engineering Symposium will explore work at the intersection of human computer interaction and software engineering. The program will cover tools and techniques that make software engineering easier, and make it easier to engineer usable software. We will discuss ways of supporting both professional and casual software developers to gain a deeper understanding of usability, to leverage the human and technical resources of the Web, and collaborate with users, designers and other developers.

We will bring together researchers from industry and academia for one and a half days of talks and discussions.
