Clare-Marie Karat received the ACM SIGCHI Lifetime Service Award, 2009. John Karat received ACM Distinguished Scientist, and was elected to the SIGCHI Executive Committee. Michele Zhou received an ACM Distinguished Scientist award. The Almaden lab organized the 17th annual New Paradigms in Using Computers (NPUC) one-day conference.
