90° coupling induced by exchange biasing in PtMn/CoFe₁₀/CoFe₂O₄/CoFe₁₀ films

A study to investigate the 90° coupling induced by exchange biasing in PtMn/CoFe10/CoFe2O4/CoFe10 films was presented. It was observed that the easy axis of the pinned layer is parallel, while the easy axis of the free layer is perpendicular to the annealing field. A simple model to explain the 90° rotation of the free-layer easy axis by coupling through the magnetically rough CoFe2O4 layer was proposed.
