Elastic strain engineering for exceptional mechanical coherence

We utilized strain engineering combined with soft-clamping to realize exceptionally high Q nanomechanical oscillators. The quality factors (> 400 million) and Q × f products (approaching 1015 Hz) are both unprecedented for any room temperature mechanical oscillator.
