One- and two-photon lasing in an organic 2-D photonic band gap structure

Optically pumped organic lasers are fabricated onto a 2-D photonic band gap structure. Lasing occurs at the band-edge or in the band gap in excellent agreement with our modeling. Furthermore, frequency up-converted lasing is demonstrated.
