Electronic states in magnetic quantum wells

Experimental methods are reviewed which are characteristic of photoemission from solids using synchroton radiation. The instrumentation is intimately connected with the scientific scope of an experiment. In particular, electron spectrometers can be optimized for different modes, e.g., high throughput, good angular resolution, or fast time response. Although photoelectron spectroscopy has almost become a routine technique the time structure and brightness of synchrotron radiation sources offers new possibilities for space- and time-resolved experiments. © 1983.
