Studies at IBM on anisotropy in single crystals of the high-temperature oxide superconductor Y₁Ba₂Cu₃O_7-x (invited)

A series of studies carried out at IBM on the magnetic, transport, and optical properties of single crystal Y1Ba2Cu 3O7-x demonstrate the overriding importance of anisotropy in its superconducting and normal-state properties.
