Dr. Hamideh Anjomshoa is a Research Scientist in the Health Modelling and Analytics team at IBM Research Australia. She holds an honorary research fellow position at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Melbourne since 2017. She is also a Board Member of Industry Advisory Committee at Mathematical Sciences Department at RMIT since 2016.

Hamideh completed her Bachelor, Master and PhD in Mathematics. In 2011, she received her PhD from the University of South Australia and her research title was “Optimal Placement of Passing Bays in Underground Mines”.

Before moving to Australia, Hamideh held a position in the IT department of United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Tehran, Iran for four years. She has been the Science and Technical Leader of several healthcare projects in IBM and has over six years’ experience in design and implementation of large-scale optimisation solutions across different industries including, mining, transportation, rail, and healthcare.

She has published several papers and patents while her research interests broadly concern mathematical modelling, mixed integer programming, business analytics and optimisation, data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, health analytics and resource allocation/scheduling.
