Edmilson Da silva morais           

Edmilson Morais received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of 
Brasilia, Brasilia, Brazil (UnB) in 1995, with specialization in Digital Signal Processing. 
In 1997, he received his M.Sc. degree in electrical and computer engineering with emphasis 
on Speech Signal Processing from the State University of Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil (Unicamp),
he received his Ph.D. degree from Unicamp in 2016, but the majority of his Ph.D. research 
was done at Universities and Research Centers in Europe: Center for Speech Technology Research
(CSTR) at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, Institute for Natural Processing at the 
University of Stuttgart, Germany and Information Engineering at University of Cambridge, UK. 

From 1998 to 2000 Edmilson worked at IBM labs in Seville Spain and from 2002 to 2004 he was a
research staff member of the Toshiba Speech and Language Technology Research Lab in Cambridge, UK. 

Since February 2017, Edmilson works at IBM Research lab in São Paulo and his current research
interests are speech generation and recognition, visual-speech recognition, natural language
processing and conversational systems.
