Bio
Leonardo Martins is a Senior Research Scientist and Manager at IBM since 2014. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Campinas (UNICAMP), working on numerical methods for electrical power systems, where he also contributed as a visiting professor and post-doc research assistant in several projects for the electric power industry. Since joining IBM, he has been involved in projects related to energy. His current research interests include convex relaxation of mathematical optimization models for machine learning of high-dimensional, nonlinear dynamical systems arising in geophysical and environmental sciences. He is a published author with a book chapter and several peer-reviewed papers in JCR journals and conference proceedings.
