Dr. Honglei Guo is a Research Staff Member at Information Analysis and Search Team of IBM Research-China. She received her Ph.D. degree in computer science from Northeastern University in 1997. She served as a postdoctoral in National Lab. of Software Development Environment, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronauts during 1997-1999. She subsequently joined IBM China Research Lab. Her research interests include natural language processing, text mining, sentiment analysis, machine translation and machine learning.
Honglei has demonstrated her technical leadership and innovation ability for developing advanced Chinese language processing and deep sentiment mining technologies. Her work has appeared in international TOP conferences/journals, such as WWW, SIGKDD, CIKM, EMNLP and NAACL. These innovative technologies have also been integrated into IBM products, solutions, research systems and customer projects. She has successfully developed Chinese named entity recognition engine for IBM ECM products eDiscovery Analyzer (eDA) and BigInsights, Chinese sentiment analysis engine for IBM software product Cognos Customer Insight (CCI), Chinese language processing and English generation engines for IBM Web Translation server. She also owns more than 20 patents filed US/international patent applications.
Honglei's ongoing projects focus on social opinion mining from on-line news, customer reviews, micro-blogs etc. by using aspect-oriented deep sentiment analysis technologies.
