Li Zhang is a Research Staff Member in IBM Research-China. She obtained her PhD degree in Management Science from Tsinghua University, School of Economics and Management in 2011, with an interest in revenue management optimization and large-scale linear programming decomposition algorithms.
During her early career, she applied data analytics models for national network optimization, line planning and route scheduling, and collaborated with a number of transportation and logistics companies. Then she led the data analytics work on public health to understand the relationship between air pollution and health outcomes (chronic disease and mortality), and penetrated to CDCs (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen) and Korea.
Her current research interest lies in applying machine learning and graph technologies in fighting financial fraud crimes.
