I am a postdoctoral research scientist at IBM Research UK, working in the engineering team. I was previously at Universitat Jaume I (Spain) as a part-time professor and researcher where I have been involved since 2009. I received the PhD degree from Universitat Politecnica de Valencia (Spain) in 2017. During this time, I have been a visiting scholar at Technique University of Munich (2010), Iowa State University (2013) and Imperial College London (2015). In my last position I was technically leading the development of simulation platforms for primary and secondary clarification processes in treatment plants based on open-source libraries.
My research activities are mainly focused on the modelling of natural and industrial processes by means of the use and development of CFD techniques. The modelling of physical phenomena, implementation and development of models in existing CFD codes and validation against experimental data, in close collaboration with experimentalists, have been the core of my work. My domain expertise lies mainly on multiphase flow modelling concerning different areas as wastewater treatment, chemical engineering, nuclear industry or petrol extraction. In addition, I have been actively involved in projects related with renewable energy as wind turbines or marine environment. One of my main motivations is also to provide these developments as approachable web-based simulation interfaces fitting the needs of the industry.
