Raghav Batta is a Research Software Engineer in the IT Service Management group at IBM Research in Yorktown Heights, NY. He joined IBM Research in Jan 2017. He completed his Master of Science in Statistics from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in May 2016. His area of research focuses on using Natural Language processing and Artificial Intelligence to develop an understanding of the IT change and incident tickets, which are often written in incomplete/short phrases with grammatically incorrect structures. His projects mainly focus on classifying change tickets by discovering actions from the text, discovering the change-induced incidents by mining the change and incident tickets and looking at temporal and textual similarities, determining the risk associated with performing a change in the IT infrastructure, providing explanations for risk prediction and recommendations to mitigate this risk.
His research interests include applying AI on unstructured “real-world” data which present a variety of challenges like unavailability of labelled data, missing values, highly imbalance among classes (for classification problems), etc.
