Santiago Manuel Castro Dau           

What makes Santiago tick? Working on projects that impact people's lives, at the intersection of medical research, computer science, and mathematical modeling. He is conscientious and kind; a leader when there's a need for one and a devoted disciple otherwise. He holds a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, and is currently doing a master's in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at ETH Zürich. He has experience on projects involving:

• statistical analysis of epidemiological data,
• regulatory network inference based on transcriptomic data,
• various machine learning tasks,
• and probabilistic modeling of neural populations.

Currently carrying out his master's thesis at the IBM Research Accelerated Discovery Lab in the AI4SCR group.
