What makes Santiago tick? Working on projects that impact people's lives, at the intersection of medical research, computer science, and mathematical modeling. He is conscientious and kind; a leader when there's a need for one and a devoted disciple otherwise. He holds a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, and is currently doing a master's in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at ETH Zürich. He has experience on projects involving:
- statistical analysis of epidemiological data,
- regulatory network inference based on transcriptomic data,
- various machine learning tasks,
- and probabilistic modeling of neural populations.
Currently carrying out his master's thesis at the IBM Research Accelerated Discovery Lab in the AI4SCR group.
