Cutting edge technologies have great potential to improving people's lives. Sebastian Lehrig's passion is to bring this potential into practice - by applying such technologies and steadily collecting the feedback on the quality of its usage.
At IBM, he is currently working on integrated care. A combined analysis of health and social care data allows to improve the decision-making of professionals like doctors and care managers, enabling them to help more patients with greater quality. Key challenges are to process billions of patient data sets while protecting the privacy of individuals.
In this context, he tunes technologies from the domains of (big) data analytics (Spark, Hadoop, ...) and machine learning (collaborative filtering, frequent pattern mining, semantic graphs, neural networks, ...) to provide highly scalable and privacy-protecting software products.
