I am a research staff member in IBM Research AI. My research background is in human-computer interaction, and I have broad interests in human-AI interaction. Currently, I mainly work on conversational agents (chatbots, virtual agents, etc.) that support information seeking, decision-making and collaboration.
I publish at top-tier venues such as CHI, CSCW, TOCHI, and AMIA. I received Best Paper Honorable Mention at CHI 2014 for my work on designing deliberation platforms that "nudge" people to hear diverse opinions.
I did Ph.D. in Computer Science (focus on HCI) and M.S in Human Factors at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and B.S in Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University.
