I am a research staff member in the Cognitive Computing department at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. My research interests include human-computer interaction, intelligent user interface, social computing and health informatics. My current work focuses on conversational systems, and I have broad interests in the topics of information seeking, persuasion and personalization.
I publish at top-tier venues such as CHI, CSCW, TOCHI and AMIA. I received Best Paper Honorable Mention at CHI 2014 for my work on designing deliberation platforms that "nudge" people to hear diverse opinions.
I did Ph.D in Computer Science (focus on HCI) and M.S in Human Factors at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and B.S in Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University.
