Xiaotong Liu           

Xiaotong Liu is a Manger and Senior Scientist at IBM, leading a team of scientists and engineers to bring in the power of AI to transform how enterprises develop, deploy and operate Information Technology.  Dr. Liu's has been playing a major role in enhancing IBM Watson AI services through research and development in Data Analytics, Visualization, Human-Computer Interaction, and Machine Learning. He has been developing advanced data analytics solutions that enhance the interplay of data, human and machine.

Dr. Liu received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Ohio State University. His advisor was Dr. Han-Wei Shen. Dr. Liu's dissertation has contributed to the design and understanding of comparative visualization and analysis methods in visual exploration of multidimensional data for discovering knowledge, making decisions and communicating insights within multi-faceted data spaces. Dr. Liu has published over 20 papers in top journals and conferences such as TVCG, CHI, VAST, SciVis, CGF, WWW and Information Visualization. He has helped organize tutorials at IEEE VIS conference.
