Yasmeen received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in computer science from Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Ain Shams University (Egypt), in 2008 and 2013, respectively. She completed her Ph.D. in 2018 at the University of Melbourne (UoM), Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, working on medical image processing with application to psoriasis.
She worked as associate lecturer and research fellow at University of Melbourne, School of Computing and Information Systems, teaching data science related subjects and performing research in the area of social media analytics.
Currently, she is AI/Medical Image Analytics Postdoctoral Researcher with IBM Research Australia, working on AI for the eye, specifically deep learning interpretability for retinal disease diagnosis and reinforcement learning for inter-frame eye movement alignment.
Her research interests include medical image processing, computer vision, machine/deep learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
