Carmelo di Nolfo is a Research Scientist at IBM Research - Almaden, San Jose, California, USA. He works in the Brain-Inspired Computing group and specializes in machine learning, deep learning and computer vision. He works on the development of the vast TrueNorth ecosystem and its algorithms, thus contributing to the continuous advancement of the state of the art of computer science.

He contributed to the publication of several important scientific articles in prestigious journals (notably Nature in 2018 and Proceedings of the National Academy of Science) and book chapters (Springer). Together with his team, he won the Misha Mahowald Prize of Neuromorphic Engineering in August 2016.
