Matt is a Senior Technical Staff Member for the IBM Software CISO External Compliance team. His primary responsibility is to guide offerings through their compliance certification process, covering architecture, processes, system setup, operations and case management.
Matt works across the entire business unit and collaborates with individual division leaders, acting as a liaison between compliance teams, auditors, development teams and offering management.
Matt comes from a career in software development with over 15 years of experience in the security domain. As a seasoned speaker, Matt has represented IBM X-Force Threat Research on conferences and client engagements around the globe. Matt is a CISSP and CISM credential holder.
He has also a long track record of Agile transformation leadership, holding multiple certifications (e.g. PMI-ACP, CSP) and has contributed to several publications in the field.
In his spare time, Matt has contributed to numerous (security) innovations, earning the coveted "Master Inventor" title with 40+ patents filed and 25+ patents granted.
Matt's formal education provides a counterbalance to his technical skills. He holds a B.A. in Economics and Management from the Fachhochschule fuer Oekonomie und Management in Essen/Germany as well as a B.A. in International Marketing from the Fontys Hogescholen Open Business School in Venlo/Netherlands.
Matt is currently attending Sam Houston State University to attain a Master's degree in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity.
