Research staff member at IBM Research, Dublin since January 2012. Previously a (senior) researcher at NICTA, Australia, mirrored with similar-level adjunct positions at the Australian National University.
Research interests include artificial intelligence (including planning, heuristic search, and path finding), dialogue systems, transportation problems, and combinatorial optimization.
Authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications, and more than 20 patent applications filed to the US Patent and Trademark Office. Best paper award in the International Conference on Automated Planning and Scheduling, ICAPS 2009. Co-authored pathfinding systems awarded in the International Grid-based Path Planning Competition (GPPC), in 2012 and 2014.
Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research JAIR from 2010 to 2016. PC and Senior PC in top-tier conferences in artificial intelligence.
