Andrew Penrose           

Andrew Penrose is an STSM (Senior Technical Staff Member) in IBM's AI Applications division, an IBM Master Inventor, and a member of the IBM Academy of Technology. He is responsible for the technical leadership and architectural vision within IBM AI Applications Aviation Portfolio and Weather Operations Center.

Andrew provided technical leadership for IBMs first SAAS offering, IBM Connections Cloud, and was involved with bringing customers on-premise instances of IBM Connections into the cloud. He is a key proponent of agile development, Continuous Delivery and CI/CD practices, as well as promoting GitOps and DevOps cultures.

Andrew has worked extensively in technical sales engagements, engaging with multi-disciplined teams inside and outside IBM, driving analytics solutions from research through to scalable highly available production offerings. 

He is a core team member of the Ireland Technical Expertise Council (ITEC), and IBM UK & Ireland Technical Consulting Group (UKI TCG). These organizations drive technical events, collaborations, deeper customer engagements, and work with university students and faculty.

Andrew joined IBM in 2008 and was voted in as an IBM Academy of Technology member in 2016, a community of selected IBM top technical leaders organized to advance the understanding of key technical areas & trends, enable attract & retain the technical community, and engage our clients in technical pursuits of mutual value.
