Andrew Penrose, — Dublin, Ireland - Andrew Penrose is an Architect in IBM's AI Applications division, an IBM Master Inventor, and a member of the IBM Academy of Technology. He is a deeply technical collaborator working across various IBM divisions, including IBM Research labs.
He was a key development member for IBMs first SAAS offering, IBM Connections Cloud, and was involved with bringing customers on-premise instances of IBM Connections into the cloud. He is a key proponent of agile development, CI/CD practices, and development practices such as Gitops.
Andrew has worked extensively in Technical Sales engagements and is currently working with customers in the Smart Farming or Agritech space developing IBM's Watson Decision Platform for Agriculture. Engaging with multi-disciplined teams inside and outside IBM, he drives analytics solutions from incubation through to scalable highly available production offerings working with offering management and leadership.
He is a core team member of the Ireland Technical Expertise Council (ITEC), and IBM UK & Ireland Technical Consulting Group (UKI TCG). These organizations drive technical events, collaborations, deeper customer engagements, and work with university students and faculty.
Andrew joined IBM in 2008 and was voted in as an IBM Academy of Technology member in 2016, a community of selected IBM top technical leaders organized to advance the understanding of key technical areas & trends, enable attract & retain the technical community, and engage our clients in technical pursuits of mutual value.
