Amith Singhee is a Senior Manager and Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM Research, India. He leads the Hybrid Cloud research mission for IBM India, where he is responsible for developing innovations that help IBM’s enterprise clients to effectively adopt Hybrid Cloud. From 2008 to 2015, he was with the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in NY, USA. He has extensive experience in applying artificial intelligence, IoT, enterprise architecture, Cloud and mobile to real-world business processes with large enterprises globally and across multiple sectors such as retail, energy, agriculture, buildings and chip design. He has worked with large fashion and jewellery retail clients to help them to leverage AI to transform customer engagement and merchandising. Before that he has worked with large power utilities in the US to develop solutions for improved storm preparation and response using data analytics, machine learning, customized weather forecasting and optimization. He led an effort to develop a big-data analytics platform for developing and deploying a wide array of analytics-driven solutions for asset-heavy industries like energy and utilities, telecom, etc. This led to multiple new product offerings from IBM.

He has a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University in ECE. His work on statistical design and optimization was awarded several awards: IEEE CEDA 2011 Donald O. Pederson Award, EDAA Outstanding Dissertation Award 2008, A.G. Milnes Award 2008 from Carnegie Mellon University and several best paper awards at top conferences in the fields of analytics for power systems and electronic design automation.  At IBM his work on AOMS and smart grid applications received the Outstanding Technical Achievement Award (OTAA). Amith has served as Program Chair for the IEEE International Workshop on DFM&Y and on the program committee of IEEE ICCAD. Amith has co-authored several books, papers and patents in the area of electronic design automation and smart grid applications. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
