Short Bio

Daiki Kimura is currently a Research Scientist at IBM Research AI and a Technical Assistant for the Director of Research Tokyo. He is researching about deep methods for computer vision and robotics. He received his B.Eng., M.Eng., and D.Eng. from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2011, 2012, and 2015. During the period, he was also a Research Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), and a Research Assistant at the university. And he joined Research Internships at Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) in Beijing, and Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz (FHNW, University) in Switzerland. Then he was a Research Scientist at Rakuten Institute of Technology (RIT) from 2015. He joined IBM Research in 2016. He recieved Best Paper Award, Outstanding Young Researcher Award, Audience Award, Best Demonstration Award, and so on.

2011年 東京工業大学卒業、2012年 同大修士課程修了、2015年 同大博士課程修了。在学中、日本学術振興会 特別研究員、同大 研究補佐員も兼任。また、北京のMicrosoft Research Asia、スイスの大学で研究インターンシップに参加。2015年 楽天技術研究所に入所。2016年 IBM 東京基礎研究所に入所、現在はIBM Research AI部門に所属。優秀学術論文賞、若手奨励賞、オーディエンス賞、ベストデモ賞など様々な賞を受賞。特に、画像処理や知能ロボットなどの研究に従事。また、中学校・高等学校教諭専修免許状（数学）を保有。
