Seiji Takeda received his BSc, MSc, and Ph.D in 'Laser Physics & Engineering' from Keio University in 2005, 2007, and 2010 respectively. He then became an assistant professor (non-tenured) of Keio University until September 2012. During the service he also spent 8 months as a guest researcher at Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France). His area of expertise are optics and photonics, in particular, Silicon photonics, laser, multiple scattering, Anderon localization, micro cavity, photonic crystal.
After joining IBM in October 2012, he has been working on optical interconnect, in praticular, silicon photonics and optical MCM. Recently he has started to work on machine learning in particular nerural network. Since Januarty to June 2014 he had been working as a Technical Assistant to lab director.
