I am currently leading the research, architecture and implementation of the management infrastructure required for provisioning end-to-end Eldercare/Aging IoT based solutions enabling quick delivery customers.  The research area focuses on a seamless management interface and experience for deploying, monitoring, scaling and integrating applications, middleware, health care eco-systems and edge components from in-house and 3rd party technologies.

I joined in research in 2014 working the Accessibility Advanced Technology team. In research I the led architecture, Development and Integration of IBM Researches Accessibility conformance checking into the IBM Commerce Tealeaf solution.  I also was the architect, designer and co-developer of an indoor navigation system which was a joint research effort with UMASS, Boston.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1989 and have 28 years at IBM initially working in Kingston NY on porting OSF Unix to s390 platforms. I has worked on the full spectrum of the software stack including, object oriented operating systems, clustered operating systems, systems management software (Tivoli), User Interfaces, and architect for Tivoli Response Time Monitoring products. John has recently worked in several ad-tech areas for Tivoli Monitoring including: Cloud Enablement, Software as a Service enablement, Platform as a Service enablement (PureApp) as well as Web UI architect.
