Amin Katouzian received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University in 2011. Prior joining IBM he was jointly appointed as Senior Research Scientist at the Chair for Computer Aided Medical Procedures (CAMP) in Technical University of Munich and HBIL at Columbia University, leading several multi-disciplinary research projects and developing novel algorithms with applications in computer aided surgery and diagnosis. He was CEO and founder of i2Sense, a mdedical device startup for remote sensing and monitoring of vascular disease. His researsh interest includes machine learning, deep learnining, multi-modal image analysis, cross-modal (text+image) analysis, medical data retrieval, quantitative image analysis, signal processing, and big medical data analysis. 



- AI algorithm development lead, care advisor for prostate (CAP). 

- Developed automated rib fracture detection algorithm in chest x-ray frontal images. 

- Led image analytic and AI teams on "Eyes of Watson" project featured in Signature Moment at Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2016. 

- Developing retrieval platform for cross-modal and multi-modal medical data. 

- Developing patient cohort identification algorithms deploying heterogeneous EHR data. 

- Developing predictive models supporting pro-active and preventive solutions in digital healthcare systems. 



- 2016: IBM Manager's Choice Award.

- 2016: Elsevier Medical Image Analysis-MICCAI Best Paper Award for "Metric Hashing Forests".

- 2015: First place, Prostate Cancer DREAM sub-Challenge 1b (TEAM CAMP).
