I combine virtual reality with cognitive neuroscience to understand and enhance human performance.
I finished my Ph.D. in Visual Cognition and Human Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015, specializing in brain training videogames and neuroenhancement. During my time at UIUC I founded a VR research lab, where I developed VR cognitive tests on the Oculus Rift DK1 . Prior to joining IBM, I was co-founder and CEO of a VR startup developing brain training videogames for the Samsung GearVR headset.
My current research uses machine learning to analyze brain activity (EEG) and predict memory. I have projects exploring mixed reality, immersive telepresence, tangible controllers, and IoT sensors.
