Graeme Blackwood is a Research Staff Member in the Multilingual Natural Language Processing department of the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. His main research interests are Statistical Machine Translation and Statistical Language Modeling.
Dr. Blackwood joined IBM Research in September 2011. Before joining IBM he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Machine Intelligence Laboratory of Cambridge University Engineering Department.
Graeme completed his Ph.D. in 2010 under the supervision of Dr. Bill Byrne at the University of Cambridge Engineering Department. His thesis title was "Lattice Rescoring Methods for Statistical Machine Translation".
Graeme is a member of the IBM Research team working on the DARPA sponsored Broad Operational Language Translation (BOLT) project.
