Chitra Subramanian joined IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, in 2016, where she is currently a Research Staff Member in the Research AI division. Her current interests include hardware and software co-design for neuro-symbolic AI and system power optimization using distributed intelligence. Previously she was the design lead for an ultralow power RFID chip for IoT edge applications in IBM's "World's Smallest Computer" program. Prior to joining IBM, she was Design Project Leader for the industry first MRAM memory product, low power SPI MRAMs and a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Everspin Technologies. Her background includes SRAM and eDRAM memory design and R&D in transistor and bitcell design at Freescale Semiconductors and Motorola Advanced Product Research and Development Laboratory. Chitra Subramanian received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Purdue University. She has over 50 issued patents and has coauthored over 25 papers.
