I am a Research Scientist at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. I received my Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California at Davis in 2009 where my Ph.D. advisor was Jesus De Loera. From 2009 to 2011 I was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Kentucky in the department of Statistics where Ruriko Yoshida was my advisor. From 2012-2014 I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at IBM working on Computation biology. In 2014 I became a Research scientist at IBM working on speech-to-text and text-to-speech using deep learning methods. My research interests include automatic speech recognition, text to speech, deep learning, machine learning, graphical models, statistical processes, linear and integer optimization, computational biology, discrete math, algebraic statistics, and algorithms.
