Ehsan Dehghan received his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada in 2009. His thesis was focused on simulation and planning for insertion of a needle into deformable tissue. Between 2009 and 2012, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Queen's University, Kingston, ON, Canada and the John Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA developing Multi-Modality Image Fusion Algorithms for Intra-operative assessment of a Prostate Cancer treatment, named Prostate Brachytherapy. He then joined Philips Research North America, Briarcliff Manor, NY, USA as Research Scientist working on a variety of solutions in the fields of Image-Guided Intervention and Therapy, Clinical Informatics and Clinical Decision Support Systems. He joined IBM Almaden Research center in 2015 as a Research Scientist in the Medical Sieve Radiology Grand Challenge.
His research interests are in Medical Image Processing, Clinical Decision Support Systems, Image-Guided Interventions, Surgical Simulation and Planning, and Machine Learning.
