Hi! I am a research staff member at IBM Research - Almaden. My research interest is the emerging field of information interaction, at the intersection of human-computer interaction, information visualization, and data management.

My current focus is on developing intearctive visual platforms for drug discovery utilizing public and proprietary omics data. Our goal is to combine computational and visual interactive analytics capabilities to empower scientists explore and analyze vast amounts of omics data in conjunction to ontologies in the fields of biology, genetics, and chemistry.

I love studying people - observing them how they work, and that has been the starting point for all my projects. For example, for several years I studied system administrators at data centers  with my colleagues at IBM - and published our analysis in a book, titled Taming Information Technology by Oxford University Press.

Below are some sample projects I worked on. See my complete list of publications on Google Scholar.
