Rick Fishbune is a Distinguished Engineer at IBM Corporation in the area of Power Technology. Rick joined IBM as a development engineer. He is now the technical leader of the Power Technology & Qualification group, where he is responsible for strategic power technology and new technology qualification for IBM’s Systems Business Unit. He has expertise in power assembly and battery pack assembly designs. He leads the global IBM team in the development and qualification of power assemblies and battery pack assemblies, working jointly with IBM’s strategic suppliers. Rick is a member of IBM’s Academy of Technology, the technical lead for the IBM Power Development Council, a senior member of IEEE, a leader of an iNEMI DC-DC converter project, a former Industry Advisory Board member for CPES, and a certified Black Belt in Design for Six Sigma.
Rick received a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis.
