I am passionate about technical innovation to solve real world problems, including Deep Learning and Cloud Computing. I led teams of 30+ Cloud Advisors (New York and Latin America) designing cloud solutions and deployments with high client satisfaction and revenue growth. I was CTO for IBM Latin America, leading a team of 40+ architects, responsible for technical strategy, community development, and key client initiatives, resulting in significant revenue growth. I directed the Advanced Technology Program, leading dozens of small research and incubation projects worldwide in diverse areas: Financial Markets low-latency analytics, SaaS patterns, Cloud, Healthcare, Virtualization, Asset Management, Analytic Tools, Industry Models, Mobile Solutions, SOA, etc. I led the design and prototyping of the first IBM elastic cloud computing environment, a highly available, scalable IaaS that enabled customer workloads to be securely hosted. Several of its technologies were later deployed in IBM products. I designed and co-implemented the first IP workload balancer for the first Olympics Web site, which became a key component on multiple successful IBM products and deployments worldwide. I published 50+ refereed papers, I hold 18 USA patents, and received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Columbia University, with a dissertation on “Network Management by Delegation”.
